Depending on your taste and budget, you can either choose to go for simple decorative touches here and there or give your countertop a complete makeover by designing it around a theme.

I have rounded up a set of budget-friendly, easy to implement countertop decor ideas that are sure to inspire your next bathroom décor project.

Read on to know more about these ideas:

1. Put The Towels In A Stylish Basket

A towel storage basket can easily double up as a countertop décor without spending too much money.

You can use a wire storage basket like the one shown in the image, a structured basket or a simple rattan storage basket. Be sure to look around to find an amazingly catchy piece to adorn your countertop. You can also pair this basket up with a decorative candle or a small bouquet of flowers to take the ambience of your bathroom a notch higher.

2. A Stylish Decorative Tray

Decorative trays work great for counters with a large surface area. Besides serving as an embellishment for your countertop, this tray can be a convenient storage option for many of your everyday essentials.

This statement countertop tray, for example, adds vintage vibes to an otherwise white backdrop of this bathroom. With just a glass full of white flowers and a perfectly folded face towel, this tray helps set the mood for the entire bathroom thereby making it look elegant and inviting.

3. Place A Vase By The Sink

Vases can never go out of style and can instantly amp up the most dull-looking surfaces.

The countertop in the bathroom design shown below has a small surface area. So instead of going for too many items, the designer has chosen a simple vase to add a slight pop of green to this space. The best thing about vases is that you can easily switch out the flowers with the changing seasons to make the space feel rejuvenated.

4. Bring Accent With Wooden Accessories

If you can’t think of anything that can help prettify your bathroom counter, entrust wooden accessories to get the job done for you.

With just a few accessories, the designer here has managed to intensify the energy of this space. While a simple yet stunning bamboo basket has been put to store the towels, the hardwood tray and soap dispenser bring a touch of nature to this contemporary bathroom space.

5. Add Succulents For A Touch Of Nature

For countertops that are too small to hold a tray or decorative accessories or a towel storage basket, succulents can work like a charm. The best thing about succulents is that they can instantly louden the ambience of a bathroom even if they aren’t accompanied by other decorative elements.

The designer here has managed to bring attention to this tiny pot of succulents without cluttering the counter space with too many accessories. This doesn’t just help ornate a modern bathroom countertop with ease, but also adds a touch of nature to this space.

6. Keep Candles For Ambience

Candles bring a feeling of warmth and relaxation to the bathroom and can work as a nice embellishment for the countertop. When I am expecting guests and want to lift up the ambience of my guest bathroom, candles always come in handy as the last option. Sometimes, I move them to the bathtub area for a perfect spa-like experience. Depending on your budget and taste, you can either go for taper candles, tea lights, molded or carved candles.

7. Send Across A Message

Your bathroom countertop can be used to deliver a message you strongly believe in, thereby turning it into an area that is a reflection of your personality.

The designer here, for example, has managed to elaborate this space with a collection of some budget-friendly bathroom accessories that silently communicate a strong message. Besides opting for a lot of refillable and reusable accessories promoting sustainable living, a sign has been put on display to amplify the ambience of this bathroom.

If you want to keep your bathroom countertop décor to a minimum, the best route to take is to go for decorative alternates of the bathroom accessories you need. Depending on your budget and needs, you can either choose to go for a stylish soap dispenser and toothbrush holder or a decorative soap dish or a stunning towel storage basket. There are plenty of decorative bathroom accessories available out there that can help you decorate a small bathroom countertop within a budget.

9. Use Glass Jars To Store Toiletries

This was one of my favorite ways to decorate the bathroom countertop when I lived in a dorm during my college days.

Without spending a single penny, you can dress up your countertop using the jars available at your home. Once you’ve put the jars together, make them functional by filling them up with bath essentials like aroma massage oil, bath salt and body wash. Get a stylish tray to hold these jars and leave it to be flaunted on your countertop. You can even add a bath bomb, a decorative marble stone and a seasonal flower to balance it out and to bring a touch of luxury to your bathroom.
