About Me

Hi there! I’m Richi – the founder of this very blog.

Welcome to my little world of simplicity jumbled with craziness. I’m absolutely delighted to have you here and can’t wait to have you along in this journey of a minimalist lifestyle. I am 26 and trying to make the most of this life by travelling often, spending time with friends and family and expressing myself through my blogs (the other one goes by the name Ask Miss Whimsical). I love every part of this life and won’t have it any other way.

While growing up, I always aspired to be an independent woman wanting to live life on her own terms. In May 2017, I started working for a Multi-national corporation and contrary to my belief, the job was everything that I had ever dreamt of. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my career after completing the MBA.

But life had its own plans.

Within 6 days of joining, I started feeling a bit off. While sitting in my cubicle one day, I could feel something inside me saying that I should just run away and I didn’t know why.

Life as I knew it was perfect.

I would go home after an eight-hour work day. I had a lot of time to spend with my family. The pay was good. I had an awesome group of friends to hang out with.

Then what was it? As days passed by, I grew anxious about why I didn’t want to do the job anymore. I stopped pursuing my hobbies – watching cricket, writing, music and everything else that I loved.

While sitting in the office one day, I was scrolling through the Instagram feed where I came across this quote that said “If it no longer works for you, then leave.” It was like the universe sending me signals to follow my instincts.

I stopped looking for answers and handed over my resignation the next day. All I knew at that moment was I didn’t want to do the job that I had fought for for three long months.

I realized that I knew the answer all along.

I couldn’t see myself working a 9-5 job for the rest of my life.

The only thing that I didn’t have an answer for was ‘what would I do if I leave this job?’

I loved organizing. I loved writing. I loved networking with people like myself. But how could any of these things help me make money?

All I knew was that I didn’t want to sit at home doing nothing. So after a few days of leaving the job, I began expressing my thoughts on a blog that I happened to start on a whim (and hence the name). And to my surprise, within a year of writing my very first post, I was making more money from it than what I could from my day job.

After 18 months of writing about personal finance and mental health on my first blog, I thought it was the right time for me to step into the world of organization – minimalism and decluttering to be more precise. I had embraced a minimalist lifestyle a couple years back and realized that there couldn’t be a better way than blogging to share my journey with you.

So here I am. Feeling overjoyed to have you here.

Let’s do it together!
