Dijon mustard is one of my favorite sauces, so I add it whenever I can. For this salad, I paired Dijon with mozzarella balls and a creamy yogurt dressing. The Dijon adds a nice tang to the creamy dressing.

I’ve been making this pasta salad quite a bit lately, and it’s become a favorite at home. It takes only 20 minutes to make, and the Dijon and lemon give the dressing lots of flavor.
I also like taking this salad to potlucks because it’s easy to pack and serve. You can serve it with a simple weeknight dinner or add it to your Thanksgiving spread.

4. Transfer the pasta salad to serving glasses and garnish with fresh basil leaves and a crunchy topping of your choice.

Important Recipe Notes:
- If you don’t have cavatappi pasta, you can use fusilli, bowtie, shells, rotini or any other pasta you have on hand.
- Use any extra vegetables you have in the fridge. Chickpeas, white beans, or tofu are good options for adding protein.
- Cook the pasta al dente so it doesn’t turn soft or sticky in the salad. Once cooked, rinse it under cold water to stop it from cooking further.
- You can make this pasta salad ahead of time. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and give it a quick stir before serving.
